Contrary to popular belief, I was NOT in Spotlight (2002). In fact, I wasn’t even born yet!

BUT………..

107 posts, 3 managing editor kudos, and 25,000 new followers on the Globe’s Instagram (more than my hometown’s population) later…my 12 weeks as an Audience Engagement Intern inside New England’s leading newsroom were truly transformative — but not without these three key takeaways.

  • All audience ventures are worthwhile, so long as they are mission-driven and data-informed

  • Never stop believing in the power of your uniqueness. Only you can produce your version of work.

  • Don’t be a stranger, because you can always make mentors out of your desk neighbors, as I found with mine.
